課程概述

本課程主要是對健康經濟學有興趣並可能以之為專門研修或輔修領域之博士班學生所開設。本課程主要目的為訓練學生熟悉健康經濟學的理論和工具，並能運用於分析健康政策與醫療體系相關議題，進而能批判與改進現有理論與方法的不足。課程進行以兩週為單位，第一週是同學依據課程主題研讀授課老師指定的文章，以熟知相關理論與最新的實證研究發現，並於課堂中做導讀與心得分享，第二週則在課堂上針對授課老師規劃的題目繳交報告與進行課堂討論，由授課教師提供評論與解說。
This course is established for doctoral students who are interested in advanced health economics. The objective of this course is to facilitate the student’s understanding of the theoretical frameworks and tools of health economics and apply their knowledge to analyze issues in health policy and health care system. This course takes place by study units of 2-weeks. At the first week of each unit, students are required to read pre-assigned articles to get acquainted with the classic theoretical framework and most updated empirical research in health economics, and present at the class. At the second week, students are required to submit their answers to the homework questions and lead the discussion in the class.

在修習本課程後，同學應該能對健康經濟學的理論與實證研究有深入的了解，並能運用健康經濟的理論與工具對健康政策做深入的分析與評論。
After this class, the students are expected to be able to apply the knowledge and tools of health economics to analyze and criticize the issues in health policy and health care system.

Apply the key theories, concepts, and models from a range of social and behavioral disciplines that are used in public health research and practice. (PhD-B)
 
課程要求
 1. 導讀時請準備PPT檔或重點筆記做解說，並於前一天上傳NTU COOL。導讀內容雖是以指定閱讀內容為主，但不以之為限。導讀時應彙整報告內容，分段落與重點做報告，避免地毯式逐句逐字的報告方式。導讀的輪流與分工由同學自行討論安排。
At the first week of each study unit, students are required to prepare and share notes or slides for their class presentation. The presentation files have to be uploaded no later than 5pm one day prior to the class (that is, due every Monday 5pm.) While the presentation content should focus on the assigned readings, students are not limited with those articles and are free to include other materials when deemed relevant and appropriate. Students are expected to summarize the materials and organize the presentation in a structural way, without merely reading the presentation or their private notes. The class will arrange the presentation order that is mutually agreed by all students.

2. 解題討論時，導讀同學以PPT放映或重點筆記做報告，但每位同學均以Word檔案上傳或是印出紙本繳交，導讀同學也可以加入自己尚未釐清的問題，以利同學課堂上討論。
At the second week of each study unit, the assigned student is required to lead homework discussion with the class. ALL students are required to submit homework assignments. The lead student will prepare notes or slides for leading the in-class discussion.
